On Friday evening MK and I flew down to Charlotte for the Christmas holiday. We didn't get much time to relax because we were soon piled in a car (with Derek & Kristie on the way up) and headed to the mountains for a ride on the Polar Express. Half way up, Kristie realized that Sloane didn't have a coat...oops! So, we stopped by a local department store and bought her a fancy winter coat and continued on our way.
When we got to the "station" I grabbed a little something to eat and we waited on our platform. Soon it was "All Aboard!" and we climbed into our seats. Don't mind that it was so hot through the windows that our chocolates had all melted. ha! We got to move down to all sit together and the fun began. They told the Polar Express story, did games, dancing with songs and gave time for waaaaay too much sugar. Let's just say it wasn't just the kids who indulged, ha, you look over at grandpa and he was scarfing down the whipped cream! It's absolutely magical to see Christmas and the excitement of the season through a child's eyes.
