How do you Tame a Unique Bird?

... unique up on it. <-- that was part one of a two part series joke my dad used to love telling us when we were younger. Each time we'd laugh and groan in unison.

Now that I have birdies I realize that is definitely the worst way to ever get a bird to trust you, especially quirky, unique bird like the ones I have! I am still working on the training part, but the surest way to get them to come to you? Introduce fruit and protein into their diet. The weeks you have to remove seed from their diet all together they let their displeasure be known (most of them anyway.)
