CoUlD I GeT a CoLd BeVeRaGe?

I guess the birds aren't the only ones. Since my commencement at 1010 N. Glebe Road, my (now former) coworker and I would take a break mid day and go down to the first floor for a little snack. It was at this same time that a growing resentment to the little Mongolian lady was born. Resentment may be too harsh a word, it's just more of a desire to "stick it to the (wo)man" with her overpriced and often out-of-date goods. I mean, she even charges extra on postal stamps--THAT'S ILLEGAL! I started searching around for open business space, thinking "If I had money I'd open up a shop and run her out of business!" Ask my coworkers, I think I was a broken record.

While my entrepreneurial savvy has yet to peek, about six months ago I opened a "General Store" in my office. Yes, my very own office. It started off with a variety of drinks from Costco. I would put the drinks on the bottom shelf on the refrigerator door and they would put the money in the elf (seen above). So, instead of people in my office paying her atrocious $1.50 fee, they only pay $.75 for a nice cold beverage. I make a bit of profit and they got a cheaper drink, conveniently located i might add.

Soon however people began requesting things... like chips, and candy bars... and gum. Above is a photo of my current inventory: 100 calorie snacks, crackers, Luna bars, gum, an assortment of candies and cookies, Altoids mints, popcorn, Twinkies, A&W root beer, Diet Coke and DDP.

Surprisingly my best sellers are 3 Musketeers and Root beer over Diet Coke and Snickers... apparently TV advertising doesn't always matter ;)

p.s. the "cold beverage link" is just for you Heidi... and anyone from NY.

WOW!!!! That's the entrepreneurial spirit! But how about some Fig Newtons? Can I get some Fig Newtons, please? And oh yeah, do you take mail orders? Because your office is kind of inconveniently located for me ...
